New Water Treatment Plant at Galveston, Indiana

Here are some photos of the Completed Galveston Water Project completed in June. A new water treatment plant was contstructed with iron removal, water softener, and disinfection. Various water lines were replaced throughout the town along with valves and hydrants. The existing water tower was also cleaned, repaired, and painted.

City of Ligonier Fire Station

Triad Associates was hired to design a fire station for the City of Ligonier. Completed just last month, the Ligonier Fire Station has been nominated to be considered for the 2022 Firehouse Station Design Awards.  Encompassing 23,969 square feet, here is the story behind the project and other station features:Chief Jeremy Weaver and Assistant Gerald Sprague did their homework in planning the new station by visiting other facilities in the region. They knew what they wanted and had floor plans sketched even before initial meetings with the consultants. Final plans were detailed during COVID shutdown of all non-essential business in Indiana. The construction pre-bid meeting was done on-line with fifty-three attendees via Zoom!The station was constructed on an old industrial property that had left old foundations, debris and spoil material. Josh Chapman – Employee Spotlight

Josh Chapman, a graduate of Trine University in Angola, is Triad’s newest hire. Josh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering in May of 2016. Ligonier Horse and Carriage Parking – Project Update

The Amish community is a vital and important part of the history and the future of the City of Ligonier.  This recently completed project would allow for the safe and convenient parking of any Amish horse and buggy.  The completed parking facility includes a 96’ by 26’ concrete parking pad, asphalt drive improvements, water service and yard hydrants, special storm sewer inlet, landscaping, sign installation, and 110 lineal feet of Shadow Box fencing.      

Ligonier Bank Stabilization – Project Update

The Elkhart River Erosion Control Project was recently completed in Ligonier.  The reconstruction of a collapsed retaining wall approximately 275 feet long was part of a Disaster Recovery project. The project included construction of a retaining wall/bank stabilization system along the Elkhart River, reconstruction of the ally, and installation of a guardrail system along the river bank.   

Jim Frazell, P.E. – Owner Biography

TITLE:  President, Project EngineerJim is a principal owner and has been on the Board of Directors of Triad Associates, Inc., since its inception. He is responsible for the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities and other civil, environmental, and industrial engineering projects. Jim is also responsible for cost control, cost estimating, and value engineering studies. He holds responsibilities in the areas of corporate marketing, public relations, and client management.Jim has designed a number of significant projects for the firm including the wastewater treatment plants for the Towns of Odon, Sweetser, and Middlebury and for the Cities of Elwood, Wabash, New Castle, and Linton. Other past projects include the value engineering study for the City of Indianapolis’ Department of Public Works, a thirty million dollar Sludge Management Facility.
