New Water Treatment Plant at Galveston, Indiana

Here are some photos of the Completed Galveston Water Project completed in June. A new water treatment plant was contstructed with iron removal, water softener, and disinfection. Various water lines were replaced throughout the town along with valves and hydrants. The existing water tower was also cleaned, repaired, and painted.

Lt. Gov. Crouch, OCRA Announce 21 Communities to Receive $12.9 Million in Federal GrantsINDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 13, 2022) – Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs today announced 21 rural Indiana communities will receive more than $12.9 million in federal grant funding to create and expand community facilities and improve water infrastructure.“Quality of life is important for rural areas in Indiana, and these grants will help several Indiana communities make needed improvements and upgrades,” said Lt. City of Ligonier Fire Station

Triad Associates was hired to design a fire station for the City of Ligonier. Completed just last month, the Ligonier Fire Station has been nominated to be considered for the 2022 Firehouse Station Design Awards.  Encompassing 23,969 square feet, here is the story behind the project and other station features:Chief Jeremy Weaver and Assistant Gerald Sprague did their homework in planning the new station by visiting other facilities in the region. They knew what they wanted and had floor plans sketched even before initial meetings with the consultants. Final plans were detailed during COVID shutdown of all non-essential business in Indiana. The construction pre-bid meeting was done on-line with fifty-three attendees via Zoom!The station was constructed on an old industrial property that had left old foundations, debris and spoil material. IWEA Annual Conference 2022

The Indiana Water Environment Association is having a birthday!  For 50 years IWEA has been dedicated to preserving and protecting Indiana’s waterways.  Since 1972 when the Clean Water Act was enacted, IWEA has been educating its members, as well as citizens of Indiana, about the importance of our water environment.This year IWEA’s conference this year is being held in Fort Wayne, Indiana and at the Grand Wayne Convention Center August 16-August 19th.  Stop by Triad’s booth this week and have a chat with our knowledgeable representatives.  With decades of construction and engineering experience, Triad’s associates are always available to talk to operators, supervisors, and municipal employees to answer questions and offer solutions.Happy learning!

Funding for Fountain City

Triad is pleased to announce that the town of Fountain City has received grant funding through the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA).  Fountain City is one of only 25 communities in Indiana to receive a grant under the Transportation and Stormwater Grant program.  Additionally, several other grants have been obtained that will help keep the rates low for Fountain City.   Triad is currently designing the stormwater project that will alleviate flooding on SR 27 and throughout town.  The project includes over 80 storm structures, 8600 feet of new storm sewer, and a 60-inch outfall.  Follow us to stay updated on this and other projects.For more information about the Transportation and Stormwater Grants visit the IFA site.

Columbia City – Mayors Roundtable

“The Mayors Roundtable is a monthly opportunity for mayors to discuss challenges and opportunities with professional experts to find creative and engaging solutions.”  This is what Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel says about the Northern Indiana Mayors Roundtable.  Mayor Daniel hosted the latest roundtable in Columbia City last Friday, September 22nd.In attendance were Mayor Richard Hickman of Angola, Mayor Norm Yoder of Auburn, Mayor Jeremy Stutsman of Goshen, Mayor Patty Fisel of Ligonier, Mayor Phil Jenkins of Nappanee, Mayor Joe Kelsey of Woodburn, and more.  There was a lively luncheon and drawing followed by a panel discussion about Indiana politics with Abdul-Hakim Shabazz of Indy Politics and Brian Howey of Howey Politics Indiana.  Andy Downs of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics at IPFW moderated the discussion. Click here to listen to the panel discussion:   

Congratulations to Community Crossings Grant Award Recipients

On September 20th, INDOT announced the communities to be awarded funding for their 2017 Community Crossings grant applications.  Congratulations to all the cities, towns, and counties that will benefit from these funds.  Jonathan Moen, P.E., transportation engineer at Triad, submitted several grant applications.  Seven Triad clients received funding, the Towns of Arcadia, Ingalls, Schneider, Shirley, Upland, Wolcottville, and the City of  Ligonier.
