Public Building Design

Triad Associates has designed buildings to help our civil engineering clients in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan address their space needs. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer municipal architecture services in-house, taking a project from the drafting board to reality.

For example, our engineers did the site design for the new Wabash Township Fire Station in West Lafayette, Indiana, planning drainage and water- and sewer-line extensions. Then our architects designed the three-bay station, with room for an ambulance, office, and training rooms.

By keeping all of the work under our direct control, we cut costs and delivered a flexible space that will serve the community for decades to come.

Public Building Rehabilitation and Reuse

Our experience with public building design also includes the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, which make up the very character of many Midwestern downtowns. Still, they often fall into disrepair. Triad Associates’ municipal architecture experts can analyze historic buildings and help clients assess funding opportunities to breathe new life into these structures.

Likewise in Grant County, Indiana, we converted the historic jail and sheriff’s residence into 24 low-cost apartments, handling the space planning, architectural designs, and cost estimates.
